Why do we need to take care of liver?
The liver performs a vital function in our body – filters out many toxins we consume daily. There is one more reason why we should take care of our liver. This helps burning and metabolizing fat in the body. The liver also produces bile that is necessary for digestion of fats and other substances.
Continuous contaminations of body with toxins provide an enormous strain on the liver and eventually it begins to function worst. So if you want to be wellness and achieve the desired results in fitness, it makes sense to keep your liver healthy so that it can function at 100%. Below we will discuss a few tips in order to help you in this matter.
Detoxification of the body and the Cytochrome P450
One of the functions of the liver is detoxification of the body. This enzymatic process, which eliminates unwanted chemicals, includes two phases.
The first phase begins with cytochrome P450. This is family of enzymes catalyzing the oxidation of organic compounds. Enzymes are distinguished mainly by the liver, but also occur in the adrenal glands and ovaries. In the first phase the cytochromes are trying to neutralize the toxins that then excrete the residual products reaction in the second phase detoxification. Toxins that have been neutralized and converted from the fat-soluble to water-soluble, are excreted through the kidneys. Substances which have been neutralized, but not converted, cannot be deduced in the first phase and move into the second.
An important side effect of the first phase of detoxification is the formation of free radicals, which occurs at a ratio of 1:1. In other words, for each molecule of toxin, which is metabolized in the first phase, is formed one molecule of free radical.
Without adequate protection from free radicals, each time the liver neutralizes toxins, they (the radicals) will be harmful to health. Antioxidants help to cope with it, so be sure that your diet contains nutrients such as lipoic acid, vitamin A and E, and selenium.
In the second stage of detoxification liver connects the sulfur molecules. Thanks to them, the toxins that were not converted in the first phase, neutralized and excreted in the urine.
Drink natural cranberry juice
We do not mean cheap juices that filled up all the supermarkets. In most cases, they contain corn syrup with high fructose texture, and really only hurt your liver. You need only 100% natural, not sweet cranberry juice. You will not find this in stores; you can buy cranberries and meke the juice yourself.
Many nutritionists say that cranberry juice cleanses the lymphatic system perfectly. In particular, it helps provide the body with biologically active compounds – phytonutrients, they are necessary for normal functioning of the liver in phases 1 and 2, which we discussed earlier.
The lymphatic system plays a vital role in purifying the cells and tissue. Phytonutrients that cranberry juice contains much help in this delicate matter, and thereby relieve the load from the liver. If the lymphatic system is functioning perfectly, then your liver does not need to clean up after the owner of the consequences of a bad environment, fat, sugar, etc. In other words, phytonutrients help the liver, “take out the garbage” from the body.
Cranberry juice can be used as follows. In the liter bottle of water dissolve about 100 grams of juice. For begining, drink one bottle a day, and when you get used – drink more. The juice adds only 10-20 grams of carbohydrates per day, and the additional water will be useful.
Drink warm water with lemon
Lemon juice, especially contained in it D-limonene, tone up the liver and improves digestion. It also removes the detoxification and helps the liver produce more bile. D-limonene found in citrus essential oils and many other plants. Experiments on animals have shown that this substance may also have anticancer properties.
Limonene helps health GST (Glutathione-S-transferase) of the liver and small intestine, reducing the negative effects of carcinogens. Another interesting fact is that D-limonene is a solvent of cholesterol. In this context it was used in clinics to dissolve cholesterol gallstones.
In the morning our body is in the process of natural purification, so it’s better to use lemon juice at this time. Squeeze the juice of half a lemon and dilute with warm water (or tea), it is important that the juice was fresh squeezed, not concentrate. Dilute the juice with warm water is needed, because cold water constricts blood vessels in the stomach, and this leads to a deterioration of blood flow to this area, while the warm causes vasodilation, and help increase your metabolic rate. One cup of water with lemon every morning should be enough.
Insoluble fiber
Insoluble fiber in the diet helps the digestive system of self-cleaning. Insoluble fibers absorb water in the digestive tract; promote the formation of food bolus and its normal movement in the intestines. Without insoluble fiber, foods can move so slowly that it literally will rot in the intestine. Soluble fiber, contribute to the slow digestion, which allows the body to absorb more nutrients.
If you are not getting enough fiber, 90% of cholesterol and bile acids are reabsorbed. From this there is no benefit, only the extra stress on your liver, which may prevent it from normal function. Since fat and toxins remain in the bile, they are recycled back to the liver, it is called enterohepatic circulation. This is a normal process that can take place from 6 to 8 times a day, but when the bile is burdened with chemicals, there may be problems such as fatty liver disease and poor regulation of cholesterol levels. The presence of fiber in the diet can prevent these undesirable effects.
Keeping liver clean after detoxification
Now you know some tips that can help detoxify the liver. Let’s see, what you should do to keep your liver healthy.
First, avoid the terrible Trinity:
1. Trans Fats
2. Vegetable oils high in omega-6
3. Sugar
Try to minimize the consumption of products from these three categories.
Second, eat eggs; they contain lots of sulfur, methionine and taurine, helping the liver to regulate the secretion of bile. Amino acids that contain sulfur may help in the second phase of detoxification because they act as molecules carrier and help to effectively remove the “garbage” from the body. The egg yolks also contain phosphatidylcholine, which helps maintain the health of the liver – helps prevent fatty liver, as well as improve the function of the gallbladder.
Eat kale! This is one of the best plant foods with antioxidant properties. It contains sulforaphane – a substance that helps to neutralize toxins into harmless compounds for further withdrawal from the body.
Conclusion
Fitness fans frequently focus on training and do not specifically monitor health. However, without the health of all your internal organs embossed press and biceps volume no more than a beautiful cover. Remember this!
