The winners of the 2011 BodySpace Spokesmodel Search have now been announced. Congratulations go out to your new 2011 BodySpace Spokesmodels Steve Cook and Jennifer Rankin!
BodySpace, the world’s largest social fitness network powered by Bodybuilding.com, and Iron Man Magazine, one of the longest-running bodybuilding publications, have officially announced Steve Cook and Jennifer Rankin as the 2011 BodySpace Spokesmodel Search Winners.
From Boise, Idaho, Steve Cook fell in love with lifting weights while playing high school football. This past year he has taken the bodybuilding and fitness industry by storm with triumphs in multiple natural bodybuilding competitions, winning the Bodybuilding.com Fit Body Contest, stealing the show at Muscle&Fitness Magazine’s Male Model Search, and now with his recent title of 2011 BodySpace Spokesmodel. With his boy-next-door good looks, amazingly symmetrical physique, and dedication to serving as a role model to others, his star will continue to rise. When asked what he would do as a BodySpace Spokesmodel Steve summed it up in one simple word, “HELP.” As a representative for a community of over 700,000 members, he will have plenty of help to give.

Jennifer Rankin, residing in Plainview, Texas, is a Health & Wellness Director for the YMCA, making her a knowledgeable BodySpace Spokesmodel who is truly dedicated to practicing what she preaches. A self-titled “small town Texas girl,” Jennifer was drawn to fitness with her many years on the track field and from spending her youth as die-hard tomboy. “Just like competing in track, bodybuilding gave me a ‘niche’ and it continuously helps me to keep moving forward in life by setting goals and striving for more. In my opinion, having a goal and a vision is the most important thing we can do for ourselves,” explains Rankin. Jennifer is already accustomed to the selfless act of helping others with her service in the Rotary Club; working locally and internationally to help combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, and promote peace under the motto Service Above Self.

The annual BodySpace Spokesmodel Competition is a much-anticipated event deciding who will be the official BodySpace Representatives for 2011. Over 400 men and women registered online for this amazing opportunity, and with the help of online votes from Bodybuilding.com visitors the top 40 semifinalists comprised of men and women were decided upon. From there, the final top ten were chosen by Bodybuilding.com Staff and Iron Man Magazine Studios and flown to Los Angeles to participate in a series of Spokesmodel events, including a professional photo shoot with acclaimed Iron Man photographer Mike Nevoux and a workout video shoot filmed by the Bodybuilding.com Video Team.
On Saturday, January 29th, in their final event, the BodySpace Spokesmodel finalists took the Los Angles Fitness Expo stage to compete for the coveted title. They performed an individual model walk, battled it out in an overall comparison round and answered interview questions provided by hosts Mike O’Hearn (Titan from American Gladiators) and Bodybuilding.com Spokesmodel Jamie Eason. It was a difficult decision for the judges (comprised of Iron Man Editor in Chief Steve Holman, 2010 BodySpace Spokesmodels Jaquelyn Kay and Ben Booker, and 2010 BodySpace Spokesmodel Finalist Danny Johnson), but after much deliberation, Steve Cook and Jennifer Rankin claimed the title.
The BodySpace Spokesmodel winners receive a year-long contract with Bodybuilding.com, an Ironman Magazine cover and editorial piece, and most importantly, the absolute admiration of over 700,000 BodySpace members.
